On behalf of the ONPA Board of Trustees and members, I’m delighted to announce the return of an in-person ONPA Convention, Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 9am - 7pm at Midwest Photo, Columbus, Oh. The 2023 annual ONPA Conference is returning in-person to Columbus, Oh, on April 1, 9am to 7pm at Midwest Photo.
A welcome from the board will begin promptly at 9:30am. Bagels, coffee and tea will be provided.
Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist and Los Angeles Times correspondent, Marcus Yam, will discuss his experiences in what led him to pursue photojournalism from his early educational years in aerospace engineering, and lessons learned around the world as a journalist working domestically and abroad. He will present work illustrating those experiences along the way.
A catered-lunch will be provided for all.
We will then transition into a panel discussion with Marcus, Cara Owesly, Director of Photography at the Cincinnati Enquirer, and Angelo Merendino, Cleveland-based commercial and editorial photographer, about the state of the industry. Audience questions will be throughout the discussion.
The mid-afternoon and evening will feature portfolio reviews from speakers and other guest reviewers as needed, as well as technical demonstrations from the Midwest Photo staff. Signup for reviews will be available on the day of the conference. Please keep in mind that the camera store will also be open for business during our conference.
Attendance is free, but limited to 100 people, so registration is required via our EventBrite page, here. We do ask that you also either join ONPA as a member, or renew your dues. Thank you.
